We
arrived in South Haven on Lake Michigan at the start of a beautiful week of weather.
Our house had a beautiful view of the lake (see it in the background?) with 130
steps down to the beach. Here Eddie, Mom, and Alli enjoy a game of "Sorry"
on the deck. |
Meanwhile,
Veronika arranged all of the Bernstain Bears books from the many bookshelves in our rental
house. With all this reading to do, Eddie said this was the best house ever! |
Good friends Tom & Leanne and family joined us from
Minnesota. Games of Monopoly Jr during the day were followed by Euchre at night.
And we never ate so well in one week! |
Alli and Nika loved the flowers in the garden outside, even
spotting a little baby bunny hiding amongst them. |
Many
games of wiffle ball were played in the front yard. Devin, Nika, and Eddie hit
countless home runs, sending Dad and Tom running for the ball. Pitched low and
outside, Eddie sent many balls up and over the deck. |
Jack loved
the beach -- and we had it to ourselves! He, Leanne, and Mom were far smarter than
the rest who braved the incredibly cold water made so from a storm the night before. |
It
was so relaxing watching boats go by, playing in the waves, making sand castles, skipping
rocks, flying kites, and catching some sun. Mom's smart use of a laundry basket got
us to the beach with all our stuff in one trip! |
Nika
collected lots of cool rocks and shells to add to her collection at home. |
