 Just
about every morning of the trip began with Nika checking her very first loose tooth.
(Post trip update -- the tooth fairy visited July 18th, 8 days after our return :-)

 Our
last full day in San Diego (we'd leave for LA the next day) found us at the Wild Animal
Park. |
 Dad
really likes this picture of Eddie feeding the deer in the petting zoo. |
 Nika
didn't flinch feeding the deer - once again she shows how brave she can be! |
 A one hour tram ride around the wide open spaces of the park took us
past animals of Africa and Asia. |
 An
elephant show featured 'Nina', a trained elephant with many tricks. The kids liked
how they played the "beep beep beep" sound a truck makes while Nina backed up :) |
 Back to La Jolla for pizza at the park and a
playground by sunset. If Mom & Dad could retire anywhere, this would be it! |
 We
ended the evening with a stroll by the ocean. Here Nika spots a great wave at the
beach next to "Children's Pool", a small cove great for kids but since taken
over by seals. |
