Alli is 4!We celebrated Alli's 4th birthday at the beginning of our summer vacation in San Diego. She even got balloons at breakfast! LegolandWe spent the whole day at Legoland in Carlsbad.  Kind of like Disneyland with a Lego theme.  What a super place!
miles & milesLike Dad, Nika appreciates a great view ("miles & miles", we say).  Here Nika spots the first of many we'd see on this trip. project xNika's favorite ride was called "Project X".  Her courage got her on board and her love for excitement got her on a second time!
alli & momAlli and Mom enjoyed the view of the lagoon, complete with lifesize Elephants made with Legos! elephant!Alli takes a closer look at the Lego elephant.
skipper eddieEddie showed his mettle at skipper school, passing Alli & Mom, Nika & Dad, and five other speedboats. skipper alliAlli navigated the whole course without help from Mom.  We're looking forward to cruising with her on the Chesapeake some day :-)
nika & eddieOne of the coolest rides was "Kid Power Tower".  Here, Nika and Eddie pull themselves to the top of the 40 foot tower. nika & momNika and Mom float down after a good workout on the way up.
guilty!Do they look guilty to you? princess alliAlli enjoyed this jousting ride at least twice -- just her speed!
real cars, real roadsDriving School was way cool with real cars, real roads, traffic signals, and the occasional fender bender.  Dad wanted to be out there with Eddie and Nika! go!The kids spent at least an hour at the "Build and Test" track, where you race cars you make down a ramp. Here Alli's car is in lane 1, Eddie's in lane 2 (later mods made his car even faster :).
look closelyA highlight of the day was the sports show.  Here a bicyclist jumps 10 feet in the air over a Legoland character, "Jammin' Jake".  As always, click the photo to get a better view. i'm getting dizzyLegoland employees are really nice.  This guy, the "Terminator", rode with Eddie on Bionicle Blaster (like the old "Scrambler" that Dad used to ride).
looking for the white keyEddie looked for seven hidden keys in the "Adventurers Club".  Very cool. niiiice doggieA bit hard to see, but here Alli is feeding a dog made out of Legos (yes, the cooler is made from Legos too :)
on a cruiseThe lagoon cruise took us past several scenes from cities around the world, like the opera house in Syndey, Australia. going upAlli and Mom waving from the helicopter ride.
it's my birthdayHappy Birthday, Allison! go eddieAmazingly, a life size Kobe Bryant lego figure makes the same smooth moves as Eddie.  Notice the feet too!
go nika!Kobe just couldn't copy Nika's unique moves! pedal powerThis pedal ride sure looked like HG Wells' time machine, which would've helped with the long line to get on early in the day!
nika & eddieBest of friends till the end of the day, posing here in front of a miniature Washington DC. eddieEddie and Dad had great fun piloting remote control boats in the New York Harbor.  We ran from here to the boat ride and a super nice park guy let us ride even though the park was closing!
good nightA super great day comes to an end -- we were among the last to leave! skickAlli made her signature sign off before the ride home.  Dad treated all to one more 'amusement park ride' in the Buick Rendezvous :-)
